St. MICHAELs

The building is designed as a simple oblong form with a double pitched roof located on the north side of the site to avoid the roots of the existing trees. these rooms do not require high ceilings, have low eaves thereby reducing the first floor massing adjacent to the back garden on St. Michaels Road. Existing topography is such that the ground floor level of the new building will be 750mm lover than the gardens on the north side, this also minimizes the height of the proposed building.

Aspects to and from the new building have been carefully considered by locating windows only on the south side of the building which are set back allowing sunlight into the studio and habitable rooms.
